Faced with the Prospect of Moving
August 19, 2020
A Realtor introduced us. She was in her mid forties and had loved her home for about 17 years. She did her best to maintain her home, but over time, it was showing its age. She had been worrying about the inevitable stress and expense of fixing up her house. “What repairs should I make?” she wondered. We came up with a plan and when we proposed it, she cried. The relief is indescribable for some. We showed her how easy it was for her to sell her home at a fair price, and she truly appreciated it.
During the project, we discovered markings on the inside trim of her pantry. There were dates next to the marks and we immediately realized this was important to her. Before it came time for us to have to pass the home on to the next family to love it, we took pictures of the marks and preserved them for her. We took great care of her home. We turned it back into a house that became inventory for a few days and then it became a home again. I don’t know the statistics on this or if there are any, but I wonder how often previous residents ring the door bell several years later asking if they can come look around their childhood home. I bet the number is pretty high. I know I’ve done it.
When all is said and done, people need help with all sorts of things. There’s nothing wrong with letting experts help you get a fair price for your house regardless of its condition. I can’t quite say we’ve seen it all, but believe me, we get it. If you have a problem that needs to be solved, we’re likely to be able to help you solve it. We’re always open to bounce ideas around. Even if you just want some ideas on what repairs you should make, give us a call. We are happy to help.
